As I was doing a number of research one-on-one interviews last summer, it raised the topic of how to conduct different types of interviews and suggestions for improving testimonial interviews in particular. I also find that often the “testimonial” content already exists thanks to surveys or feedback loops, but teams may not know how to comb data to find it or know how to best use / optimise.

Marketing teams report they struggle with benchmarking primarily because they often rely on broad nonprofit industry averages that can be hard to find (see the blog for lots of links) or that fail to account for their unique business context. Ensure your team is adjusting for factors like size of your organization, nonprofit industry niche and quality of data (not quantity!).
