While there are numerous lists of the top NFP blogs in the US, clients comment there isn’t a similar list that makes it easy to find their Canadian counterparts. Whether you are new to the non-profit sector or wondering where you can go to get the latest and greatest marketing insights, we’ve begun to compile a list of some of our favourite Canadian NFP blogs, as well as a few of our favourites from south of the border. Let us know of any other blogs you’ve come across, and since you’re already here thanks for checking out our blog! We figured we’d add ourselves to the list since we write about all kinds of topics that are of interest to nonprofit clients, associations and membership organizations.
CANADA HELPS – Canada Helps focuses on fundraising and their blog covers online fundraising, giving trends, training and education.
CANADA REVENUE AGENCY / CHARITIES AND GIVING NEWS – subscribe to this news feed to learn about all updates to the CRA’s Charities and Giving website
CHARITY VILLAGE – While they don’t have a blog you can subscribe to their newsletters. Charity Village is a popular site for job postings/recruiting, news and how-to information
GLOBAL PHILANTHROPY – This is the blog for law firm Blumberg Segal LLP and provides advice to non-profits and charities that are operating in Canada.
IMAGINE CANADA – Imagine Canada’s blog contains information about the NFP sector in Canada, research highlights, standards, pertinent issues and impact case studies.
KCI PHILANTHROPY – KCI is a leading consulting firm for NFPs in Canada and their posts cover major giving trends and insights as well as sector news
ONTARIO NONPROFIT NETWORK – ONN focuses on policy, advocacy and services specific to Ontario, but their blog covers issues at a sector-wide level as well.
THE STORYTELLING NONPROFIT – This is a blog by Vanessa Chase Lockshin, an author and consultant specializing in non-profit storytelling, fundraising and communications.
WILD APRICOT – The Wild Apricot blog is about technology for NFP organizations and how to do more with less.
GOVERNING GOOD – This is a blog by Grant MacDonald that covers a variety of governance-related topics including organizational culture and conflict communications.
HILLBORN NEWS – formerly Canadian FundRaiser, the Hillborn focuses on news, trends, and analysis in fundraising.
2023 Update: TECH SOUP CANADA – TechSoup Canada is a program of the Centre for Social Innovation, a nonprofit coworking space, and while they have closed their blog, their newsletters remain focused on technology, trends and communications.

Hubspot – HubSpot is a developer of marketing software and its blog covers a wide range of inbound marketing topics.
Stanford’s Social Innovation Review – Covers a wide range of NFP topics by Stanford University
