Volunteer Potters Come Together to Relaunch and Expand Outreach Efforts

The PottersStudio.ca

After over 50 years of enriching the community @pottersstudio  is embarking on an exciting new chapter as they planned a move to a larger, brighter studio space. To celebrate this monumental shift and keep members and supporters informed, a team of dedicated volunteer potters recently came together to relaunch the studio’s website, ThePottersStudio.ca, and create an outreach communications plan to spread the word.

A New Digital Home for a Growing Creative Hub

The website relaunch marks a major digital milestone for the cooperative. Built entirely by a group of passionate volunteer potters, who initially describe themselves as novices, the new site not only reflects the studio’s creative spirit but also its vision for the future. The Shopify refreshed website now offers a modern, user-friendly design that’s easier to navigate and more accessible for both new visitors and longtime members.  The team carefully created a website that was accessible and helped improve their search engine rankings following the move.

The updated site includes a robust online store, information on upcoming classes, and details about the nonprofit cooperative. Users can now easily register for pottery courses, browse featured artists’ work, order materials, and even purchase pottery online to support the cooperative’s growth.

Crafting a Communications Plan to Spread the Word

Alongside the website relaunch, the members created new volunteer team roles in order to deliver on a comprehensive outreach communications plan.  The team embraced new digital marketing tools in order to apply for new grants and optimize free online training programs to increase their reach and sustainably grow.  The goal is to ensure the community stays engaged and informed during this pivotal moment. The move to a new, larger studio space is a game-changer for the nonprofit cooperative studio, allowing for more members, expanded class offerings, more kilns, and an abundance of natural light to inspire creativity.

The outreach plan will utilize tools such as email, social media platforms, partnerships, organic search, digital advertising and local press coverage to keep supporters updated about the studio’s progress, events, and programs.  It also highlights new opportunities for community members to get involved, whether through open houses, upcoming sales events, special events, or their “Clay It Forward” initiative, which gives back to those in need through pottery.
